~*~ ABOUT THE ARTIST ~*~

August Point is owned by me, Abby Walker, a woman with a perfect dog who put down roots in coastal Rhode Island.

I sent over 10 years working in tech and living in Boston as a product designer, thinking in systems, wireframes, and user flows and spending up my creative energy on things that had no soul. After falling in love with my soulmate, Cameron, I found my way to the Rhode Island coast and I finally felt at home.

Inspired by my lifelong love of the coast and obsession with the little shingled cottages tucked along the water, each with their own weathered name nailed above the door, and knowing I wanted to honor my dog, August (or Auggie for short) in my business, I came up with August Point. There's something so special about naming a place, almost like saying this little corner of the world is ours and it matters, and that's exactly how I feel about August Point and the art I create.

My work comes from that same place and I hope that's reflected in my hand-drawn, whimsical, unhurried style. My work is made with genuine care. No trends chased. No mass production. No cheating. Just true expression that comes from somewhere very real... because it did.

None of this would exist without Auggie, my special, beautiful, wonderful, loving best friend who has been there for all of it: the walks, the moves, the falling in love, the slow exhale of finally living an aligned life.
