The bag everyone's talking about! Custom and original art on something you can wear around town (& get lots of compliments on). 

These bags are truly a labor of love on my part. I paint all of the artwork by hand with acrylic leather paint, to ensure the paintings adhere to the bags. No cheapo Sharpie drawings here!

How it works

1.) Step one: 

Choose your bag! Generally for these types of orders I ask that you provide the bag that you would like painted (I will send you my shipping address), however if you want help in choosing and sourcing the bag I can help you with that. 

Please note: you are responsible for the cost of the leather bag. The listing price encompasses the painting and treatment of the bag only.  

I can work with any color, but generally I need a bag that has a smooth leather grain or smooth texture to ensure the surface can hold the paint. 

Pricing is determined by the size of the bag, which determines the size of the paintings, which determines how long it will take me to work on your painting. 

2.) Step two: 

Purchase your bag & email me (abby@byaugustpoint.com) with the following info: 

The theme of the bag and what you want on it. 

Please note, this listing is for ONE painted side of the tote. If you'd like both sides and/or the straps painted, it will require an additional fee as an additional side would double the amount of time it takes me to work on these. 

Here are some ideas:
• New England Summer
• All the favorite things of someone special
• Portrait of your pet 
• All of your favorite food 
• A scene of a special location for you (wedding venue, first date spot, etc.) 

Please also be mindful of how many items you are requesting. The more items you want on the bag, the smaller each item needs to be. 

3.) Step three: 

Once I receive the info from step two, I will get started on a rough digital sketch of your bag and possibly more questions depending on how much detail you provide. 

Please expect this within 3-5 days of placing your order. 

Once you confirm that you’re happy with the sketch, I will get started on painting and embroidering. Lead time starts from confirmation of the sketch, not from time of purchase as I can't account your response time into my time to complete the bag.

Please note: Lead time for custom orders varies by the request & size of the bag, as well as my other load of orders at the time you place your order, but is at least 8-10 weeks unless a rush fee is paid.

Return & policy

Because my painted bags are made to order (and possibly custom), we do not accept returns. 

Please make sure you have taken a look at other bags that I've painted previously so  you're familiar with my painting style and technique. By purchasing one of these bags, you are giving me artistic license to make you a custom piece of art in the same type of style, unless previously and specifically requested.
